A fatal police shooting in Henderson, a pedestrian killed near the Las Vegas Strip and a fatal stabbing near central Las Vegas are among the latest public-safety developments for valley residents and visitors. The incidents happened between Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, and investigations were still underway as of Oct. 5.

The cases involve separate agencies and different kinds of investigations. The Henderson shooting remains under review, the stabbing suspect had not been located in the latest police account, and the fatal crash investigation was ongoing. Here is what authorities and local reporting say so far.

Recent cases across the valley

Henderson officers fatally shoot armed suspect

Two Henderson police officers shot and killed a man on Saturday, Oct. 3, after he fired at officers and a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department air unit, according to Henderson police. The incident unfolded in the 6000 block of South Eastern Avenue.

Police said the response began hours earlier, around 3:45 p.m., with a domestic violence call at a home in the 2000 block of Club Crest Way, near Warm Springs Road. Officers were told a family member had assaulted another family member and pointed a gun at people at the residence. The suspect had left before officers arrived.

Officers later found an adult woman with gunshot wounds at the home and took her to a hospital. Local reports, citing police, said she was expected to be released. During the search, officers learned the suspect was on South Eastern Avenue and had threatened to provoke a confrontation with police.

Police said the suspect fired at officers and Metro’s air unit, then fired again while officers tried to communicate with him. Two Henderson officers returned fire. The man died at the scene. No officers were injured, according to police. The investigation was ongoing as of the latest reports on Oct. 4.

The Henderson Police Department is the city’s police agency. Local reporting on the shooting includes the department’s account of the sequence of events. An officer-involved shooting is a significant development, but the account remains subject to the ongoing investigation.

Pedestrian dies after crash on Las Vegas Boulevard

A pedestrian died after being struck at South Las Vegas Boulevard and Four Seasons Drive on the morning of Sept. 29. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the driver was turning south onto the boulevard when the vehicle hit a pedestrian crossing in a marked crosswalk.

Emergency crews took the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital. The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner notified Metro the next day that the pedestrian had died. In its Sept. 30 release, Metro said the death marked the 90th traffic-related fatality in its jurisdiction in 2026. The collision remained under investigation.

This was a traffic fatality, not a reported criminal case. The location is near the resort corridor, where a precise address helps identify which agency is handling an incident and what updates to follow.

Fatal stabbing reported near central Las Vegas

Metro homicide detectives were investigating a fatal stabbing reported in the 70 block of West Imperial Avenue on Sept. 26. Officers found a man in a business parking lot with an apparent stab wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the department.

Detectives said the victim had argued with another man inside a business and was escorted outside. A second argument followed in the parking lot, where the victim was stabbed. The suspect fled before officers arrived. Metro’s release did not identify the victim or announce an arrest.

The address is in central Las Vegas, south of the core Downtown area. The distinction matters: neighborhood labels can be broad, while police and court records rely on exact locations.

What to watch as investigations continue

The Henderson shooting and central Las Vegas stabbing remain active investigations in the latest accounts. Authorities may release additional information as those cases develop. The Strip-area crash is also under investigation, but the publicly available Metro release did not announce an arrest or criminal charge.

For updates, start with the agency handling the specific address. Metro’s area-command lookup helps identify the station serving a neighborhood, while Henderson maintains its own police department. If officials announce a road closure, request witnesses or issue a safety instruction, follow their latest guidance.

Early details can change, and an allegation is not a court finding. Keep the location, investigating agency and case status in view. In Las Vegas, those details are not fine print. They are the story.
