Back where I’m from, a busy late-summer calendar meant the county fair, a demolition derby, and maybe one touring country singer playing beside the livestock pavilion. Las Vegas has taken that basic concept and added a 160,000-square-foot screen, several generations of pop royalty, and Rod Stewart.
The confirmed August and September 2026 schedule is plenty hot without relying on rumor. The biggest concentration of shows is along the Strip, with Sphere carrying much of the pop and rock weight while Caesars Palace and Park MGM roll out established headliners. Allegiant Stadium and MGM Grand Garden Arena also have major one-night concerts on the books.

Backstreet Boys Carry the Calendar Through August
Backstreet Boys: Into the Millennium runs from July 30 through August 29, 2026. The production brings the group’s Millennium album and greatest hits into Sphere’s wraparound visual environment. The venue lists 13 performances during August, giving visitors more flexibility than a typical two-night tour stop.
This is the kind of Vegas booking that makes perfect sense the moment you hear it. Familiar songs, enormous visuals, and a crowd ready to sing every word are not exactly subtle, but subtlety is not why anybody built a glowing ball next to the Strip.

Mexican singer-songwriter Carín León is scheduled at Sphere from September 4 through September 13. His run gives the early-September calendar a major Latin music centerpiece before the venue shifts back toward classic rock later in the month.

The Wizard of Oz Offers a Different Kind of Sphere Experience
Not every Sphere ticket is for a concert. The Wizard of Oz at Sphere is an approximately 75-minute immersive film experience built around the 1939 movie. The presentation uses the venue’s interior display, re-recorded score, haptic seating, wind, fog, scent, and other effects.
The venue recommends the experience for guests age 6 and older, requires a ticket for every guest, and does not permit late seating. That last part is worth underlining. Vegas normally gives you plenty of ways to recover from running behind. Dorothy does not wait for stragglers.
Major Residencies Fill Out the Strip
Sphere may have the building everybody photographs, but it does not have a monopoly on late-summer headliners. Caesars Palace and Park MGM have several confirmed runs covering pop, rock, R&B, and comedy.
Kelly Clarkson and Rod Stewart Split August at Caesars Palace
Caesars Palace lists Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions at the Colosseum from July 31 through August 15. Rod Stewart follows with The Encore Shows from August 18 through August 29.
That gives Caesars a nearly continuous sequence of recognizable headliners across August, although performances are limited to selected dates within each range. Clarkson is the pick for a big-voice pop night. Stewart brings a catalog that can turn a theater into the world’s fanciest neighborhood singalong.
Caesars also lists Nikki Glaser and David Spade together at the Colosseum on September 4 and 5. The pairing gives Labor Day weekend visitors a comedy option in one of the Strip’s signature concert rooms.
Mary J. Blige Returns to Dolby Live
Mary J. Blige has confirmed five late-summer performances of My Life, My Story at Dolby Live inside Park MGM. The dates are August 28 and 29, followed by September 2, 5, and 6. According to the official MGM Resorts announcement, the residency is a career-spanning production backed by a live band and dancers.
Dolby Live is a 5,200-seat room, which lands in a nice middle ground. It feels substantial without requiring the long-distance relationship between performer and audience that comes with some stadium shows.
Absinthe Remains a Reliable Production-Show Option
Absinthe is not returning for a special limited engagement. It is an ongoing Caesars Palace production, with performances listed through the end of 2026. The adult variety show combines acrobatics, comedy, and intentionally outrageous material inside the Spiegeltent.
This is not the choice for a wholesome multigenerational outing unless your family reunions are considerably different from the ones back home. For adults who want a compact, intimate alternative to an arena concert, however, it remains one of the Strip’s most distinctive options.
One-Night Concerts Add More Choices
Travelers who prefer a full-scale tour stop over a residency also have notable August dates. The Las Vegas concert calendar lists KAROL G at Allegiant Stadium on August 7 and NE-YO with AKON at MGM Grand Garden Arena on August 14.
These are true one-night commitments, so there is less room for itinerary mistakes. Double-check the venue before leaving the hotel. Allegiant Stadium, MGM Grand Garden Arena, Dolby Live, the Colosseum, and Sphere are all major Las Vegas rooms, but they are very much not the same building.
