Top Gun Vegas has found a fitting home on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, where arriving jets already provide the soundtrack and nobody has to pay extra for the aviation atmosphere.
Advent Allen Entertainment announced that it acquired a 2.48-acre development site at 4815 South Las Vegas Boulevard. The vacant property fronts Las Vegas Boulevard and backs onto Harry Reid International Airport, placing it near Russell Road, the Pinball Hall of Fame, and the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.
The acquisition gives the proposed attraction a physical address after an earlier plan called for it to be built near The STRAT. Advent Allen is developing the destination with Paramount, the entertainment company behind the Top Gun film franchise.
That much is firm. The companies have acquired the land and publicly identified it as the future home of Top Gun Vegas. What is not firm is an updated opening date. The project was previously announced with a 2028 target, but the latest site-acquisition announcement did not repeat that timeline.
In other words, the project has cleared an important checkpoint, but it has not reached the runway yet. Back home in the Midwest, buying the field is a big step. You still need to build the barn.
What Is Confirmed for the Attraction?
The latest plan describes Top Gun Vegas as a large-scale, location-based entertainment destination built around the movies rather than a single ride with a gift shop attached. Confirmed components include immersive attractions, interactive experiences, experiential dining and retail, and the Hard Deck restaurant and bar seen in Top Gun: Maverick.
Developers say the building will use Hangar 2-inspired architecture. The airport-facing location is meant to give that design a real aviation backdrop, with aircraft operating nearby throughout the day. It is a smart piece of Vegas theater because the scenery is already there. No fog machine required.
The Hard Deck and Immersive Attractions
The Hard Deck is the most recognizable element named in the current announcement. The fictional bar served as a gathering place for pilots in Top Gun: Maverick, and the Las Vegas version is planned as a restaurant and bar within the larger destination.
The companies have not yet released a current menu, seating capacity, operating schedule, admission structure, or age policy. They also have not explained whether visitors will be able to enter the restaurant separately from the paid attractions. Those practical details will matter, especially for locals who might want the atmosphere and a burger without committing to a full mission briefing.
Earlier announcements described a flight-themed thrill ride being developed with German attraction manufacturer Simtec Systems. That concept was presented as a combination of cinematic storytelling, precision motion technology, and immersive media. It remains part of the previously announced vision, although the new-site announcement did not provide updated ride specifications or confirm exactly how the experience will fit the revised property.
Claims about a vertical indoor-skydiving tunnel, a rooftop observation deck, military-grade pilot-training equipment, carrier-landing missions, and specific fighter-jet simulators have not been included in the confirmed plans released for the new site. The attraction may eventually gain more features, but the companies say those details and new renderings will be announced as development advances.
Why the South Strip Location Makes Sense
The new address gives Top Gun Vegas something its former location could not match quite as neatly: a direct visual connection to the airport. The parcel sits just north of the Welcome sign, with Las Vegas Boulevard on one side and airport property behind it.
That setting should help the destination establish its identity before guests even enter. You can build a convincing hangar anywhere with enough steel and money. Building one beside an active international airport is a little like putting a fishing lodge on an actual lake instead of next to a painted mural.
The location also places Top Gun Vegas in a changing stretch of the resort corridor. The Athletics’ ballpark is under construction farther north at the former Tropicana site, while other sports and entertainment proposals continue to circulate around the south Strip. Top Gun Vegas is separate from those projects, but its developers clearly see the area as an emerging visitor district.
The attraction is also being positioned as a nongaming experience. That could broaden its appeal to movie fans, families, groups, and visitors looking for something more active than another afternoon at a slot machine. Exact admission prices, package options, height restrictions, and accessibility details have not been announced.
