VEGAS CHANGES EVERY DAY. KEEP UP.

Local news. Business. Food. Sports. Things to do. Nightlife. Vegas life. One quick show every morning.

Follow once. Get Vegas every morning.

Las Vegas gets a two-team UNLV home date on Oct. 31: football is scheduled to host Northern Illinois at Allegiant Stadium, while women’s volleyball is set to host Air Force at The Pavilion. The same week, the Rebels’ women’s cross-country team is scheduled to race at the Mountain West Championships in Reno.

That is a fuller fall sports calendar than football alone. UNLV’s 2026 schedules include football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and women’s cross country. Those programs bring different events to campus and the wider Las Vegas area, with the Oct. 31 overlap offering a clear example of two home competitions landing on one day.

A busy schedule does not prove that more people are talking about UNLV sports or attending games. It does give local fans more teams and dates to follow. The distinction matters: the calendar is confirmed, while claims about rising attention would need attendance or audience data.

What’s on the local fall calendar?

Football supplies the biggest stadium setting. UNLV’s announced schedule lists its Oct. 31 game against Northern Illinois at Allegiant Stadium, followed by a Nov. 7 home game against Wyoming and the Nov. 28 Battle for the Fremont Cannon against Nevada. The Rebels’ home games give the season several later dates in Las Vegas, not just an opening weekend.

Volleyball offers a different kind of home competition. UNLV’s 2026 schedule includes 29 regular-season matches, with 12 at The Pavilion. The Rebels are scheduled to host Air Force on Oct. 29 and Oct. 31, then New Mexico on Nov. 12 and 14. The Mountain West women’s volleyball championship is also scheduled for Nov. 24 and 25 at The Pavilion.

For anyone tracking the full schedule, UNLV maintains its football calendar and volleyball schedule online. Check those listings before heading out, since game details can change.

Two home events, one date

Oct. 31 is the standout calendar collision: football at Allegiant Stadium and volleyball at The Pavilion. They are separate events at separate venues, not a joint program or a single ticketed outing. Fans choosing between them will need to check each event’s details and plan transportation accordingly.

UNLV announced its football schedule in March and its volleyball schedule in July. The schedule announcements establish the dates and venues, but they do not show whether the events will draw larger crowds or generate more attention than in past seasons. That part of the story is for results, attendance and fan interest to tell.

Soccer and cross country extend the season

Men’s soccer adds a run of home matches at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The schedule lists Grand Canyon on Oct. 23, Air Force on Nov. 1 and Utah Tech on Nov. 6. UNLV’s announced 18-game schedule includes eight home dates. Its slate also includes road matches, so not every fixture brings a game to Las Vegas.

Women’s soccer is also part of the fall program, with its schedule showing home games at Peter Johann Memorial Field. As with the other sports, the official calendar is the best place to check the latest opponent, venue and start time before making plans.

Cross country takes the Rebels beyond the stadium-and-arena format. UNLV’s women’s team is scheduled for the Mountain West Championships in Reno on Oct. 30, followed by NCAA West Regionals in Sacramento on Nov. 13. The team also raced at Las Vegas’ Floyd Lamb Park earlier in the season, in the Duel in the Desert, co-hosted with the College of Southern Nevada and Nevada State.

Those schedules make clear that UNLV’s fall sports footprint includes more than football. They also show how varied it is: a stadium game, a volleyball match, a soccer fixture and a cross-country race are different ways to follow a college season, not interchangeable measures of popularity.

A fuller schedule, not a crowd-size claim

For local fans, the practical takeaway is straightforward. There are multiple UNLV programs competing in fall, and the late-October calendar includes opportunities to watch more than one of them at home. Oct. 31 is the clearest same-day example, while soccer and volleyball add more campus dates and cross country has a local meet earlier in the season.

Whether that wider slate becomes a bigger part of Las Vegas’ sports conversation depends on what fans do with it. The schedules create the opportunity. Attendance, viewership and sustained local interest will show how much the city embraces it.
