General tickets are now on sale for one of the most unusual residencies Las Vegas has announced this year. LL COOL J is bringing ROCK THE BELLS: THE RESIDENCY to Dolby Live at Park MGM for 11 shows in May and July 2027, and the general public sale opened Monday, November 2 at 10 a.m. PT through Ticketmaster. MGM Resorts announced the run on October 29, billing it as part concert, part cultural odyssey and all-out party, built around the music that made Hip-Hop a global phenomenon.
At the center is LL COOL J himself, delivering his own generation-defining hits while guiding the audience through Hip-Hop's most influential eras, from its New York roots to its rise as a worldwide movement, with DJs, dynamic production and special guests sharing the stage.
"Hip-Hop started in a few neighborhoods in New York, and now it belongs to the whole world. Along the way it changed rock, R&B, pop, soul, dance music, all of it. Rock The Bells celebrates everybody who was part of that story. This isn't me doing a show in Vegas. It's all of us. Artists from different generations and different genres, sharing one stage, for fans who were there at the beginning and kids hearing it for the first time. People from all over the world come to Vegas to celebrate, so this show belongs here," said LL COOL J.
The Dates Come in Two Blocks, and Every Show Starts at 8 p.m.
The 11 shows split into a five-night opening block in May and a six-night return in July, with no June dates. Every performance is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at Dolby Live, Park MGM's 5,200-seat theater.
| Block | Dates in 2027 | Shows |
|---|---|---|
| May | 15, 16, 19, 21, 22 | 5 |
| July | 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17 | 6 |
That split matters when you buy. May holds opening night, Saturday, May 15. July gives you more dates to choose from, once the show has found its rhythm.
The Guests Are the Story, and They Have Not Been Named Yet
Here is the detail most ticket buyers will miss: the special guest lineup has not been announced. MGM Resorts says the guests will be revealed in the coming weeks, so a ticket bought today is a bet on LL COOL J, the Rock The Bells format and the promise of artists from different generations and genres sharing one stage, not on any specific guest name you may have seen rumored.
LL COOL J founded Rock The Bells in 2018, and MGM Resorts describes it as the preeminent voice of timeless and classic Hip-Hop. Chris Baldizan, MGM Resorts' Executive Vice President of Entertainment, said, "LL COOL J is a true Hip-Hop icon and we're proud to collaborate with him to debut this groundbreaking, new concept at Dolby Live at Park MGM in 2027."
How to Buy Smart Now That the General Sale Is Live
- Buy through the official channel. MGM Resorts lists tickets at ticketmaster.com. The presales are over: the Citi cardmember presale ran October 30, and the artist, MGM Rewards, Live Nation and Ticketmaster presales ran October 31 to November 1.
- Pick your block on purpose. Choose May for opening-run energy, or July for more date options and a settled show.
- Do not pay a premium for a rumored guest. No guest has been confirmed yet. If a resale listing names one, it is guessing.
- Watch the guest reveal. MGM Resorts says names are coming in the weeks ahead, and that announcement is the moment these dates will get harder to buy.
A Rock and Roll Hall of Famer building a residency around a whole culture, not just his own catalog, is a new shape for the Strip, and the guest list is still a blank page.
