Henderson Just Joined the Country Party
Boots on, Henderson. Stoney's Sunset officially opened at Sunset Station on Saturday, August 15, giving the southeast valley a new place to line dance, catch country entertainment, ride a mechanical bull, and turn an ordinary weekend into a full-send country night.
This is not a tiny casino lounge with a cowboy hat hung over the door. The new venue spans approximately 19,000 square feet and includes an expansive dance floor, a live-performance stage, a patio, multiple VIP areas, and a mezzanine level overlooking the action. It sits on the northeast side of Sunset Station at 1301 W. Sunset Road.
The opening also makes this the third Stoney's location in the Las Vegas Valley and the brand's first in Henderson. The other two are Stoney's Rockin' Country at Town Square and Stoney's North Forty at Santa Fe Station. That distinction matters because Henderson is not getting a scaled-down satellite. It is getting a full-size addition to a local country-nightlife brand with established dance floors on opposite sides of the valley.
For Henderson and Boulder City regulars who previously drove to Town Square or Santa Fe Station, the map just got a lot friendlier. More importantly, the new room gives the east and southeast sides of the valley a dedicated country venue built for dancing, group celebrations, and live programming.
What Is Inside Stoney's Sunset?
The dance floor is the main event, exactly where it should be. Stoney's has built its reputation around nights when the crowd is part of the show, not parked around the edge of the room staring at a stage. At Sunset, DJs, dance lessons, and select live performances are designed to keep that floor moving.
A Big Floor, a Bull, and Serious VIP Sightlines
The mechanical bull provides the instant challenge, while VIP platforms and boxes stretch across the dance-floor and mezzanine levels. That layout gives birthday crews, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and groups celebrating just about anything a base camp without removing them from the energy below.
The patio adds another lane to the night. Stoney's promotes it as a place to hear country music and take a breather while friends hit the lessons or dance floor. Select Thursday nights are slated to feature acoustic music on the patio, although individual event schedules can change.
There is real scale here, but the concept stays easy to understand. Come to dance. Come to hear country music. Come to test your dignity against a mechanical bull. If your crew wants the elevated view and its own space, work the VIP angle. No complicated nightlife translation required.
Dance Lessons and Weekly Programming
The regular schedule gives locals several ways to enter the action. Sunset Station lists live DJs and dance lessons on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Cover charges vary. Stoney's own venue page also promotes dance lessons and DJ-driven dancing during its Wednesday-through-Saturday operating run.
Wednesday combines Ladies Night with a first-responder promotion. Ladies and first responders receive free cover, according to the venue, while advertised drink specials apply to ladies. Thursday programming includes DJs and patio-focused acoustic entertainment, with additional live acts planned for select nights.
On select Saturdays, the venue schedules live entertainment with doors at 7 p.m. and shows at 10 p.m. Stoney's says broader live-country programming is planned twice monthly, so this is one calendar worth checking before you leave the house. The room is open every week, but a specific artist, acoustic set, or cover charge should never be assumed.
What Should You Know Before Going?
Stoney's Sunset is currently scheduled to open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday. It is closed Sunday through Tuesday. Those hours, cover charges, drink promotions, and entertainment details are all subject to change, especially as a new venue settles into its rhythm.
Hours, Address, and the Smart Play
- Address: 1301 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, Nevada 89014.
- Regular hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- Main attractions: A large dance floor, DJs, dance lessons, select live entertainment, a mechanical bull, a patio, and VIP seating across multiple levels.
- Best planning move: Check the official venue calendar before heading out because performers, promotions, lessons, and cover charges can vary by night.
If you are going specifically to learn, arrive near opening rather than rolling in after the floor is already flying. If you want a VIP box for a group, treat that as an advance-plan situation. And if the bull is calling your name, maybe handle that mission before your confidence starts making decisions your balance cannot support.
The new location also fits naturally into Sunset Station's broader entertainment setup. A country bar of this size gives the resort a late-night attraction that can stand on its own while still benefiting from the casino, restaurants, and other amenities under the same roof. You can build an entire night around the property without pointing the car toward the Strip.
Why This Opening Matters for Henderson
The real win is geographic. Henderson has plenty of places to grab a drink, but Stoney's Sunset arrives with a specific identity and enough room to deliver it properly. This is not country music playing quietly behind a sports-bar crowd. The dancing, lessons, bull riding, DJs, and performance schedule are the product.
Owner-operator Paul Lowden told FOX5 that customers from Henderson and Boulder City had spent years traveling to the brand's other valley locations. Opening at Sunset Station puts the Stoney's experience much closer to that audience while creating a new destination for visitors from across the valley.
That is why the hype feels earned. Henderson did not simply pick up another bar. It gained a purpose-built country nightlife room with the size, programming, and familiar local name to become a weekly habit. Stoney's Sunset is open, the floor is ready, and country nightlife on this side of town just got considerably louder.
