Las Vegas Boulevard will have overnight lane reductions between Sands Avenue and Harmon Avenue from Monday, Oct. 5, through Friday, Oct. 30, as work continues to prepare the Strip circuit for the 2026 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. The restrictions are scheduled Monday through Friday, midnight to 9 a.m., with one lane remaining open in each direction.

That means the boulevard is not slated for a full closure during those hours, but drivers should expect less room and possible delays through a busy stretch of the Strip. The changes begin overnight Monday and repeat on weekday mornings through the end of the month.

There are separate restrictions nearby, too. Audrie Street, north of Harmon Avenue, is scheduled to close overnight from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. through Friday, Oct. 9. Sands Avenue, from Las Vegas Boulevard to Manhattan Street, is reduced overnight Sunday through Friday, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., through Friday, Oct. 16, with one lane open in each direction. The dates and hours were reported by FOX5 Vegas.

Where and when to expect restrictions

Las Vegas Boulevard: Sands Avenue to Harmon Avenue

The main restriction covers Las Vegas Boulevard between Sands Avenue and Harmon Avenue. Weekday overnight lane reductions begin at midnight and are scheduled to end at 9 a.m. One lane in each direction will remain open, so plan for a narrower route rather than a complete shutdown.

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, Oct. 5-30. In practical terms, the work affects late-night trips and the morning commute. If you regularly travel this part of the Strip before 9 a.m., leave extra time and be ready for traffic to slow where lanes narrow. Drivers approaching the area should follow temporary signs and the lane markings in place at the time. Do not make a last-second move to reach a turn or hotel entrance.

The two nearby restrictions have different time windows. Audrie Street north of Harmon is scheduled to close overnight from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. through Oct. 9. On Sands Avenue, the overnight lane reduction runs from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday through Oct. 16. Those restrictions are not a single continuous closure covering every street at once, so check the location and hours that match your route.

What the work means for Strip trips

The restrictions are tied to preparations for the 2026 Las Vegas Strip Circuit. The work is part of a changing schedule of build and dismantle activity, so the impact may vary by date and location. A familiar route can still be open while taking longer, and a nearby street may have its own separate closure window.

That matters whether you are driving through the corridor or heading to a hotel, show, restaurant or pickup spot. Give yourself a wider arrival window for overnight trips and early appointments. If your usual approach depends on Audrie or Sands, check those streets separately rather than assuming the Las Vegas Boulevard lane pattern tells the whole story.

People using transit should check for service changes as well. The RTC’s alerts and detours page posts current route notices. FOX5 reported that Routes 119 and 202 are scheduled to detour Oct. 11-16 for Flamingo bridge work and that some Deuce stops will close overnight beginning Oct. 5. Because bus routes and stop access can change separately from vehicle lanes, confirm the latest notice before leaving.

Check for updates before heading out

Formula 1 preparations continue to be scheduled and posted through the year. The Las Vegas Grand Prix transportation site provides circuit-preparation updates and maps. Check it alongside current RTC notices if you are relying on transit, and look again before a trip if your plans fall near a restriction’s start or end date.

  • Las Vegas Boulevard: Sands Avenue to Harmon Avenue, weekdays from midnight to 9 a.m., Oct. 5-30; one lane remains open in each direction.
  • Audrie Street: North of Harmon Avenue, overnight closure from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. through Oct. 9.
  • Sands Avenue: Las Vegas Boulevard to Manhattan Street, overnight lane reduction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday through Oct. 16; one lane remains open in each direction.

Use the dates and hours as a planning guide, not a promise that conditions cannot change. Follow signs at the scene, give merges room and check the current notices before setting out. On the Strip this month, the overnight clock is part of the route.
